Chakras, Emotions, and the Path to Conscious Living

In the beginning, there was love. Love is the Creator, God, from whom all our souls were born. Everything that exists was created out of the same love. Every thought became an embodiment of the Creator, an embodiment of love. Our soul, our essence, is love. Before conception and immediately after it, our spirit is pure love and pure awareness. Everything we are and everything we will become has its root in that infinite, primordial love.

Manifestation of the Body

With the manifestation of the body comes the first separation, and within that love fear is created, along with the bones and nervous system, which are the first to develop in the womb. Fear is the first defense, a protection born out of love, which will safeguard a person throughout life. Fear is love that protects the body and enables it to survive in a world full of challenges.

As the fetus’s nervous system develops, the dorsal vagus appears – the primary instinctive mechanism that slows breathing, digestion, and heart rate, and places the body into a state of immobility or disconnection when the baby is threatened. After fear comes anger – it guards fear and provides the energy needed for survival.

As the baby grows, through contact and relationship with the mother or caregiver, the ventral vagus develops, associated with a sense of safety, presence, and social engagement. When the ventral vagus is active, the child can breathe calmly, feel love and openness, and establish contact with others. The baby expresses sadness and anger if its needs are not met, and both emotions arise from love and are necessary. Through voice and body, the baby sends the message that it needs help in order to survive.

The Chakra System in Relation to the Manifestation of the Body

If we view the Creator (love) through the rainbow spectrum of colors, we can see how emotions are also connected to colors and energy centers – chakras. The first emotion, fear, is linked to the root chakra (red). The second emotion, anger, is located in the solar plexus (yellow). The expression of needs through crying and voice belongs to the throat chakra (blue). Primary colors – red, yellow, and blue – when combined create secondary colors: orange, green, and violet, just as basic emotions give rise to more complex ones.

Discomfort belongs to the sacral chakra (orange), while love and comfort are felt through the heart chakra (green). Clarity of vision and inner insight arise from the third-eye chakra (indigo), and connection with the Creator, when all needs are met and the system is in balance, belongs to the crown chakra (violet/white).

Primary Emotions and Chakra Colors

  • Fear – root chakra (red). Red symbolizes survival, safety, and vital energy.
  • Anger – solar plexus (yellow). Yellow energy gives willpower, self-confidence, and control.
  • Expression of needs and communication – throat chakra (blue). Blue symbolizes truth and clarity of expression.

By combining the primary colors red, yellow, and blue, we get the secondary colors: orange, green, and violet. They represent more nuanced emotional states:

  • Discomfort – sacral chakra (orange).
  • Love and comfort – heart chakra (green).
  • Clarity and inner vision – third-eye chakra (indigo).
  • Connection with the Creator and balance – crown chakra (violet/white).

The body remembers everything – emotions are stored in the muscles, breathing, and posture. Suppressed emotions lead to chronic tension, anxiety, or illness. This is why it is crucial to work with emotions on a bodily level. Somatic work teaches us to listen to the body, to notice where tension lies and where an “emotion is stuck.” Through breath, movement, and conscious presence, the body releases and returns to balance. Mindfulness helps us distinguish signals from the past from the real needs of the present moment – the foundation of personal growth.

Working with chakras and emotions is not an abstract concept, but a concrete path of self-development. Every emotion, from fear to love, is simply a different expression of the same energy – the energy of life. When we understand and feel the body, when we give space to emotions, we return to ourselves. Fear, anger, and pain are steps toward love. The light surrounding us is made up of the full spectrum of colors – just like us. When all chakras are in harmony, we feel unity with ourselves, with others, and with the Creator. Love is in everything we see, and personal growth is the path by which we learn to feel that love – here and now, in the body, in the breath, in life.

White light, like sunlight, contains all colors of the spectrum; likewise, our consciousness, when in balance, embraces all emotions. Fear, anger, sadness, comfort, and love – all are shades of the same divine energy. When all chakras are in harmony, we feel unity with ourselves, others, and the Creator.

The colors we see, light itself, and our system of interpreting colors – all are created through love. Love is in everything I see, and the Creator is the ultimate artist. Personal growth is the path by which we learn to feel that love – in the body, in the breath, in life, here and now.
